Consultation with Provider and child. Provider was entertaining the child at the movie theaters playing a few video games and air hockey. Provider shared that the child and her were to go out and ride their bike, but it got too dark before getting back to the house. Observing the two playing together the air hockey, the Provider won the game and child became upset and sad and a bit whiny. Provider firmly spoke to the child and explained that that isn’t the type of reaction to display when losing. Explained that you should be a good sport by saying something like good job and next team I’m going to beat you. Provider stated t again as the child still displayed upset. After the second time and Provider adding that if he isn’t being nice to friends if that’s how he acts win he loses. The child stood momentarily and then asked if they could play air hockey again. Provider was happy to do so and not letting the child know, child won the game and was excited and also said good job. Provider and CHW commented that the routine of going to school has played an important part in child’s social, emotional, and mental development. Provider also shared that there was only one time that child showed disobedience much less than before child started school. Continue to support provider in childhood development.
