Participant shared many experiences and pictures about her recent trip to Somali to see family. She has not been home in 20 years. She talked about her appreciation for how in America we work hard at stopping the spread of disease -starting with hand washing. She heard stories of many children dying because they “caught” something. She expressed worry that because she is working and can’t always watch the neighbor’s children when she needs that they are going to find someone else and that the children are going to have a hard time because they look so long to be OK with her. Talked about attachment and what it looks like at different ages. Has received notice that her son is no longer eligible for SSI and she is stressed because that means less income for the home. Reminded her that she can have her rent reduced and her food stamps readjusted with a drop in income.
